One of my favorite things to do is share tricks that I do during the school week that make my life way easier! We are currently in the age of Google Classroom! Even my 5th graders struggle with finding assignments or websites that I need them to be on. Following 2020, I quickly created a solution to avoid missed instructional time for that confusion…. Daily Assignment Slides!!
I use a Google slideshow to create weekly slides for my students to refer to. If there is an external link, website, or Google Classroom assignment I add the link to that day. All of my students know as soon as they log in to Google Classroom to go straight to these daily assignment slides to access any and all work!
This also works great for absences as well. If a student is absent, they can see what was done by going straight to the Daily Assignment Slides. There have also been a few instances where I am running late in the morning and my students can get started right away!
Where is this slide file located so my students can access it?
I added this file as material on Google Classroom. I then post that material in the announcement sections of my Google Classroom so students see it as soon as they enter. This is my only announcement for the entire school year. If there is anything specific to that day or week I will post it on the daily assignment slides for that week.
