FAQ

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about digital planning…

A digital planner is an interactive PDF that is created to be used in a PDF annotation app on an ipad, tablet, or app enabled computers! Many of my planners are also able to be used in google slides.

No. This planner is not its own app. You will use a pdf annotation app of your choice to edit your planner on. Ex: Goodnotes, noteshelf, notability, xodo, etc.

You’ll need these things to get started today:

  • ipad/Tablet or app enabled computer
  • PDF Annotation App*
  • Stylus (optional, but preferred for long-term use)

*Your tablet needs to have an operating system compatible with the app of your choosing. Some apps to consider using with your digital planner include GoodNotes 5, Notability, XODO, ZoomNotes, NoteShelf, and more.  My suggestion is to google search “best pdf annotation app for _____.”

Yes! Of course just like with anything new there can be a learning curve. I have tons of video tutorials that will help get you started!

Get Started with Goodnotes in under 3 minutes!

Yes! Your digital planner will sync across multiple devices on the same platform. For example if you use your planner on goodnotes, you can access the planner from any device that you download Goodnotes on.

If you apple and non apple devices and you would like to sync across all, you would want to use the google slide option if included with your purchase.

Choosing a planner can be overwhelming!

Dated… Undated… Landscape… Portrait…

It’s very important to read the descriptions and view the preview videos so you can have a good Idea before you purchase. 🙂

I’ve created a video that will help you decide which planner is perfect for you!

Choose the right digital planner for you!

If you are using your planner in Goodnotes and the links are not working, be sure that you are in not in annotation mode. If the pen tool is shown, you are in presentation mode and need to click out of that to be able to use the links.

Another possibility is that you downloaded the google slides version into Goodnotes by accident.

Yes! If the planner has a google slides option, you can download the planner from google slides a powerpoint file. Open the powerpoint file and your planner is ready to go!

Here is a quick video showing that!

Use a digital planner in PowerPoint!

This planner is a pdf file so you can print it all or print just one page at a time.

I often export and print pages one at a time as needed, for sub plans, lesson plans, group documentation, etc. You can email the page straight from Goodnotes!

For iPads, the two PDF Annotation Apps we recommend are GoodNotes 5 (for long-term use) and Notability (a free app that is great for beginners on a budget).

GoodNotes 5 requires a software version of 14.5 or higher, while Notability requires a software version of 14 and higher.

You can check your software version within the Settings app on your iPad. Navigate to ‘General’ and then ‘About’. Perform any updates as necessary to hit that software version requirement.

Older iPads (5-6 years old) may not be able to update to a newer software version, and therefore, would not be compatible with use for digital planning.

Since this planner is an interactive pdf that you download, the planner stay as it is in your device. The only changes made are changes that you conduct. Therefore, it will not automatically add events to your calendar.

However, below is a video on how I add events to my calendar from my digital planner.

Add events to your google calendar from your digital planner!

Due to the nature of the product (digital downloads), we do not offer refunds. Please ensure you are purchasing the correct product and your device is compatible before purchasing.

There are a few options! When you purchase your planner you will immediately download an instructional pdf. This will be a welcome and get started guide to help you. Be sure to click where it says “CLICK HERE TO ACCESS YOUR DIGITAL PLANNER” or follow other directions for access.

After clicking on the designated link, you will be guided to either a google slide or a google drive folder. From there click on your desired year or planner!

  • If using your planner on an ipad/tablet, you should be downloading a PDF.
  • If using your planner in google slides, you will be prompted to make a copy. If you are not prompted to make a copy, click file, make a copy, entire presentation.

Downloading the PDF to your ipad/tablet can be done by

  • opening your purchase on your device from the browser and downloading
  • adding the file to your google drive and then accessing your google drive from your app
  • email the file to yourself
  • airdrop the file to your device

How to export your planner!

You can delete any pages that you wish! However, if that page is linked, because that link will no longer work.

For example, if you click on the word “lesson plan” from the index it will bring you to the lesson plan section cover page. Do not delete that page because the link will no longer work. You CAN delete any templates behind that page you do not want and duplicate the page you do want to use.
